Egerton House

Birkenhead

Listed dockside restoration.

Egerton House was a bomb damaged, grade II listed banana warehouse situated on the waterfront within Liverpool docks. It was developed in partnership with Merseyside Development Corporation.

The building was designed to incorporate the operational needs of the end purchaser: Cheshire, Elmsmere & Wirral Training and Enterprise Council (CEWTEC).

Following negotiation of the purchase from Merseyside Development Corporation, detailed design work was carried out and the existing building was remodelled to form institutional specification offices. The proposals included the creation of a new first floor to give a total of 37,000sqft of office space.

An Environmental Improvement Grant of £270,000 was awarded to the project, which had an end capital value in excess of £2m.
